Topic:What would constitute a 'good education' for the 21st century? What do we need to do differently from current mainstream practice to achieve the sought after 'balanced human being with well-rounded skills'? Can a ‘technology-enabled’ classroom really do what an inspired teacher is meant to do for the learning environment?  What constitutes an 'age-appropriate' curriculum? How can a developmentally appropriate curriculum be taught in an engaging, integrated manner to develop the child's willing, feeling & thinking (Hands, Heart & Head)?  Why are these 3 faculties important for the human being to be actively engaged in society in the economic, social and spiritual spheres?

Speaker Profile:
Mr. Martyn Rawson,
a Waldorf teacher with over 30 years teaching experience, is currently serving as an Upper School teacher of History, Geography, Anthropology and Biology in Elmshorn, Germany.  His books ‘Ready to learn’ and ‘Free your child’s true potential’ draw from his many years of child observation, pedagogy and classroom practice and also from his experience as the Co-founder of the York Waldorf School and his numerous teacher training engagements.  Mr. Rawson has authored several books on curriculum and pedagogy and his Post doctoral work explores ‘teacher learning’.  His talks combine the wealth of his classroom teaching experience as well as the academic rigor of his work on the theory and philosophy of education.
